This guide will help you create and update your Return Policy page on your BettaMax store. A clear return policy helps build trust with new customers and reduce order disputes, which is especially important when selling in the US/UK/CA market.
What should a return policy include? #
Prepare the necessary information before accessing the system. International customers often read the Return Policy before their first purchase, so the information needs to be clear enough to avoid further questions.
- Return period: How many days from the date of receipt is the customer entitled to request a return (e.g., 30 days)?
- Return conditions: The product must be in its original condition, with all tags and labels intact, and unused.
- Accepted cases: Defective goods, goods not as described, goods not delivered.
- Non-refundable cases: Change of mind, used items, end-of-season sale items.
- Refund request process: Which channel does the customer contact, and what information do they need to provide?
- Refund processing time: How many days after the request is accepted, and where will the refund go?
Access the policy settings. #
The return policy is managed in the Policy section of the store settings, in the same location as the Shipping Policy.
- From the menu bar on the left, select Settings .
- Select the Policy tab .
Edit or add content to the Return Policy. #
Find the Return Policy item in the list and add the content to the customization section. Do not modify the default content of BettaMax.
- Find the Return Policy item in the list of policies.
- Click Show more to expand the editing options.
- In the Edit Policy dialog box , scroll down to the Add your policy section .
- Enter the store’s return policy details in the text field.
- Press Save to save.

Refer to the sample below if you don’t already have content. Replace the values in square brackets with the actual store information.

Return Window
We accept returns within [30] days of the delivery date.
To be eligible for a return, items must be unused, unworn, and in original packaging.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Items on sale or purchased with a discount code
- Items that have been used, washed, or damaged after delivery
- Customized or personalized products
How to Request a Return

- Your order number
- Photos of the item showing the issue
- A brief description of the problem
We will respond within [2] business days with return instructions.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval status.
If approved, your refund will be processed within [5–10] business days

Damaged or Wrong Items
If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, contact us immediately

Check the store’s display policy. #
After saving, confirm that the Return Policy page displays the correct content on the store page. Customers usually access this page via the link in the footer.
- Open a store in your browser.
- Scroll down to the footer and find the Return Policy or Refund Policy link .
- Click the link to check that the content is displayed in full and in the correct format.
