This guide will help you activate the Abandoned Checkout Email feature on BettaMax. Once enabled, the system will automatically send reminder emails to customers who have started the checkout process but haven’t completed their order. This process takes approximately 5 minutes.

Before we begin:

  • The BettaMax store is currently in Active state.
  • You have access to the Marketing section on the dashboard.

How does Abandoned Checkout Email work? #

The checkout tracking system automatically sends emails when it detects a customer abandoning their reservation. Emails are delivered to the correct recipients based on the following three conditions:

  • Customers add products to their shopping cart.
  • The customer begins entering payment information (entering email).
  • The customer left the page without completing the payment.
Note: The system will only send emails if the customer has entered their email address during the checkout process. Customers who only add products to their cart but have not yet started the checkout will not receive a reminder email.

Activate Abandoned Checkout Email #

This feature is inactive by default . Follow these 5 steps to enable it.

  1. From the main navigation bar, select Marketing > Email Marketing .
  2. Find the “Abandoned Checkout” section , then click “View Detail” .
  3. Edit the email’s Subject Line if you want to change the default subject line.
  4. In the top left corner of the screen, switch the status from Inactive to Active .
  5. Press Save to save.

Tip: Before enabling this, preview the default email content to check the subject line and ensure it matches your store’s tone. Adjust the subject line to be concise and clear, for example: “You left something in your cart” or “Your cart is waiting for you.”

Confirm that the feature is enabled. #

After saving, check the status to make sure Abandoned Checkout Email is working.

  1. Go back to the Marketing > Email Marketing page .
  2. Check the Abandoned Checkout entry to see if its status is Active .
  3. From this point onwards, the system automatically sends emails to customers who have abandoned their checkout.

Tip: Combine Abandoned Checkout Emails with small discount codes (5-10%) to increase the likelihood of returning customers completing their orders. Create discount codes beforehand at How to create discount codes and Flash Sale programs, then add them to the email content.
