Tracking Pixel — Measuring and Optimizing Ads #

Tracking pixels are pieces of code embedded in stores to record customer behavior and send data to advertising platforms. BettaMax supports the three largest advertising platforms currently available.

  • Facebook Pixel : Track content views , add-to-cart events , and purchases for your Facebook and Instagram Ads campaigns.
  • Google Tag (GA4 + Google Ads) : Track conversions for Google Ads and generate detailed Analytics reports.
  • TikTok Pixel : Track conversions for your TikTok Ads campaigns.

Install the pixel right before running any advertising campaign. Without the pixel, you can’t measure ROAS and you can’t optimize your audience.

Note: Install the pixel before running ads, not afterward. Pixels need time to collect data and train algorithms. Installing it late slows down the optimization process of the advertising platform.

Abandoned Checkout Email — Recover abandoned shopping cart #

An abandoned checkout occurs when a customer adds items to their cart but doesn’t complete the payment. Automated email reminders help recover some of the lost revenue.

  • An automated email will be sent X hours after a customer abandons their shopping cart (the time can be customized).
  • Include a link to return directly to the shopping cart.
  • You can add discount codes to emails to increase the likelihood of customers returning.

Activate this as soon as your store starts getting traffic. On average, 70% of shopping carts are abandoned, and email recovery helps retrieve 5-15% of them.

Tip: Combine abandoned checkout emails with small discount codes (5-10%) to increase the likelihood of returning customers completing their orders.

Discount Codes and Flash Sales — Create Ads and Increase Referrals #

Discount codes and flash sales are tools to incentivize purchases, suitable for time-limited campaigns. These two features can work independently or in combination.

  • Discount Code : Create discount codes with percentage discounts or fixed price reductions, limited usage, or time-limited offers.
  • Flash Sale : Display a countdown timer on the product page, creating a sense of urgency for customers.

Suitable for Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM) campaigns, new product launches, or when needing to clear inventory.

Warning: Do not run flash sales continuously without a plan. Frequent discounts will make customers accustomed to low prices and make it difficult to sell at the original price later.

Recommended order of setup #

To make your marketing work right from the start, set it up in the following order. Skipping any step will affect the effectiveness of the subsequent steps.

  1. Install a tracking pixel ( instructions ): Do this before running any ads. The pixel needs to collect data early so that the advertising algorithm can optimize accurately.
  2. Enable Abandoned Checkout Email ( instructions ): It runs automatically in the background, requiring no manual management after setup.
  3. Create a Discount Code or Flash Sale ( instructions ): Use this for specific campaigns when promotional activities are needed.
Note: Steps 1 and 2 should be set up once when opening the store. Step 3 is created for each campaign and does not need to be set up permanently.
